Rosneath Patch Buoy & matching tulips 🌷

The Rosneath Patch buoy sits on Greenock Esplanade and was placed in the river by the Clyde Lighthouses Trust in 1880.  It was previously on Little Cumbrae before being moved to Greenock in 1977 following de-manning and automation of the lighthouse. A plaque advises that it was “the first flashing buoy to be established to aid navigation” and mentions engineers David and Thomas Stevenson of the famous family of lighthouse builders.
